Sketch Meet: Harwich Center Saturday August 8, 10am to 12pm

Where: Meet in front of Harwich Town Offices/Town Hall  at 732 Main Street, Harwich– across the street from Brooks Free Library ( west end of Harwich Main Street)

When: Saturday August, 10am to 12pm

Schedule:

10:00– 10:15am: Hellos and intros

10:15–12pm: Wander separately to sketch

12:00 PM - Gather again at the Town Offices for an optional sketchbook throwdown (sharing sketches)

What to Bring:

Sketchbook and drawing supplies. Some folks also use gouache or watercolor but your medium is up to you!

All are welcome, from beginners to experienced sketchers. Free event, no registration required.

🚗 Parking & Meeting Spot

• Where to Park: Behind the Town Offices/ Town Hall ( west end)

Brooks Park, couple minutes’ walk to Town Hall ( west end)

Brooks Academy/ Harwich Historical Society, 80 Parallel Street, longer walk about 10 minutes.  You could also sketch down at this area and return to Town Hall for the Throwdown (east end)

️🗺️ Landmarks & What to Expect

Lots of sketching options along Harwich Main Street. Shops and cafes, historical buildings, church and cemetery, and a shady park by the baseball field. Either end of Main Street offers locations for sketching; on the west end of Main Street is Town Hall , Brooks Free Library and Brooks Park. To the east end of Main Street is the First Congregational Church and Cemetery, Brooks Academy Museum/ Harwich Historical Society.  Alternatively, you can wander Main Street or the side streets for views of historic buildings and gardens.

Bring your own chair/stool if you require or prefer to sit when sketching.se) are gorgeous, featuring plenty of scenic paths and

historic structures to explore.

• Public toilets are at Brooks Park at 1 Oak Street just off of main Street past the Town Hall. (west end)
